What is GTM?

Google Tag Manager or GTM is a free tool by Google. You can create a free account online using an email address and password.

GTM is a tag management system that allows you to quickly and easily update measurement codes and related code fragments collectively known as tags on your website. You can then use Tag Manager's web-based user interface to set up tags, establish triggers that cause your tag to fire when certain events occur, and create variable that can be used to simplify and automate your tag configurations.

In brief, it is a Google Application that allows you to install code snippets and triggers on your website and manage them in one account.

Why should use it?

You can use your GTM account to install third party applications to your website such as website chatbots, Facebook pixels, or review widgets, and specify what website pages they appear on.

You can even use GTM to install new design elements on your website pages, or install tracking codes to track certain events such as button clicks to aid with advanced website reporting.

It allows you to customise your website without incurring any development charges from Webdadi, as you can do it all yourself, or indeed get your third party providers to install their product using GTM directly, thereby simplify the process of installing any third party applications onto your website.

What are the advantage of using it?
