As we all know, technology is constantly evolving and the user experiences we had several years ago, are completely different to the ones we experience now. New design trends are continuously emerging whether that’s new colour combinations, different types of illustrations or even the rise of artificial intelligence.

So, to help your property agency keep up to speed with the latest trends and innovations, we’ve put together our top design trends of 2021 - enjoy!

1. Mobile responsiveness is king 

Beginning our journey is one of the most important design trends your property agency must jump on - mobile responsive design. A staggering 55% - 75% of visits to estate agent websites are made using a mobile device.

What’s more, Statista reports that mobile devices accounted for 54.8% of global website traffic in the first quarter of 2021. Not only that, but the number of smartphone users in the UK is also set to rise to nearly 69 million by 2025.
 
That’s why it’s so crucial to optimize your website; to have one that’s responsive for every type for screen will ensure the smoothest user experience and the most enquiries for your business.

2. Make way for 3D design 

Now, entering one of the most exciting trends of 2021 - it is, indeed, 3D design.
 
Polished, clear and the complete opposite to flat design, 3D design is paving the way for a very sensational year. With technology coming on a lot in the last few years, 3D design has become more detailed, more immersive, and even more impressive.

It will influence many different types of design whether that’s 3D illustrations, 3D animations or 3D icons; either way it will make its mark one way or another.
Colour palettes will also be very varied with some designers going for stark, bold colours or others going for the complete opposite – soft, welcoming pastels.

So, here’s a top tip for you - if you can make 3D design a part of your property agency’s brand identity, you’ll stand out amongst your competitors and potentially generate more leads for your business.

3. The rise of neomorphism

Now, not quite as drastic, the more subtle neomorphism trend is also on the rise.

What’s neomorphism you may ask? Neomorphism is exactly in the middle between two dimensional, minimal flat design and the other end of the spectrum, skeuomorphism; three dimensional design that mimics real life objectives. Quite simply, it’s the hybrid of the two.

We can’t wait to see how this trend will continue to evolve!

4. Nostalgic illustrations 

You’ve probably seen a lot of illustrations in the last year; especially on social media. However, illustrations will continue to grow in popularity and take on new forms. In fact, we’ll see a return to the nostalgic 90s and 80s with retro colour palettes, old-school typefaces, and simple shapes with just a few outlines.

Going back to these eras will evoke feelings of nostalgia and reflection, in turn creating a more emotional and personal user experience.

5. Personalized interfaces

To inject more personality and emotion to tech, Google is hopping on the upcoming personalization trend and is adding colourful new digital interface designs to their “Material You” design.

Completely up to the decision of the user, users can have full control of their interfaces to meet their individual needs. They can decide their own colour palette, the size and width of icons as well as their own personal images.
 
To see tech heading in a more individualized direction, is truly inspiring.

6. Captivating animations

Another key trend of 2021 are animations. Captivating and full of movement, animations are a great way to retain your viewer’s attention and to make the user experience much more exciting.

This year we’ll see the rise of 3D animations as well as animated logos. Glossy and sleek, animated logos are a perfect addition to your brand identity as they’re more memorable and particularly effective at conveying a brand’s personality. So, take note – it could be a fantastic option for your property agency.

7. The rise of voice interfaces

To finish off our top UX and UI trends of 2021, are voice interfaces. Voice commands have grown immensely in popularity this year with virtual chatbots and virtual assistants a crucial part of any user journey.
 
What’s so great about voice interfaces is that they’re a quick and easy way for users to retrieve information. Our Instant Valuation Tool Has Been Upgraded

Having an accurate instant valuation tool can be the lynchpin to an estate agent’s inbound lead generation efforts – that’s why we regularly update and enhance our tool to ensure it offers the best user experience possible!

So, with that in mind, we have some great news for Webdadi customers – we’ve added some brand new features and functionality to our Instant Valuation Tool which has given it a striking visual refresh and also help differentiate you from your local competition.

What’s new? 

The updated Webdadi Instant Valuation Tool allows you to now make visual changes to match it closely with your agency’s own brand. The new functionality includes:

  • Add an image to the background of the item
  • Add a video to the background of the item
  • Add a background colour or transparent overlay to images and video
      
All of these new visual options can be controlled or edited in the VIA website CMS, meaning Webdadi customers can also control these settings themselves within the CMS.
 
This new functionality is a first for this type of tool because at present, no third party valuation tool allows you to customise the image after build (you can choose an image up front to use when you first buy it, but once implemented, it’s not customisable). Also, no third party instant valuation tools supports video, either. This means that Webdadi customers now have a real differentiator to stand them apart from rivals using other ‘off the shelf’ solutions.

Will Webdadi Customers Need To Take Any Action? 

No – the new Instant Valuation Tool rolled out to all Atom users on the 21st July as part of the service our Atom customers receive from us. And, like all our regular site functionality updates, this is a completely free service.

Our Stamp Duty Calculator Has Been Updated!

Back in July 2020, the British Government introduced the much-publicised Stamp Duty Holiday to help support the housing market during the Coronavirus pandemic. This holiday removed stamp duty land tax on properties up to £500,000 excluding second homes and buy-to-let.

Fast forward over a year, and with the UK economy slowly bouncing back into life following its Covid hibernation, the stamp duty holiday is now in the process of being wound down and the stamp duty rates changing, we have now updated our very own Stamp Duty Calculator to reflect the latest rate changes.

In addition, we’ve also updated the LBTT (Scottish stamp duty equivalent) calculator for customers using this tool, as this a different calculation at present to the English counterpart.

Will Atom Customers Need To Take Any Action? 

No – the new revised Stamp Duty Calculator rolled out to all Atom users on the 21st July as part of the service our Atom customers receive from us. And, like all our regular site functionality updates, this is a completely free service.

The revised Stamp Duty Calculator feature will allow website users to quickly and easily get an accurate stamp duty cost based on the most recent Government guidelines. Webdadi News - Property Alerts Sign Up Form Functionality Now Available

We’ve got some more good news for users of our Atom Website Platform, as we’ve just rolled out some brand new website functionality!

All Webdadi customers using our superb Atom Website Platform will now have access to a brand new piece of website functionality that has been built to support lead generation for property agents, and enhance the overall website user experience.

Introducing the new Property Alerts Sign Up Form

The functionality is a new item template within Atom’s VIA content management system that can be added to any CMS page. The item template is called “Property Alerts Sign Up Form”, which allows users to add a form to their website whereby the end user can sign up for property alerts.

The form allows the user to enter their name, contact details (phone & email), what areas they’re interested in (this list corresponds to the areas listed in the VIA CMS) and whether they’re interested in Sales or Lettings.

Once the form is submitted by a user, the estate or lettings agent will receive an email alert letting them know that a new applicant has signed up for property alerts. The contact is also saved within VIA, with the necessary criteria automatically stored against the record including:
  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Contact automatically marked as an applicant with:
    • The area(s) they are interested in
    • Whether they are a sales or lettings applicant
    • They are automatically ticked to receive auto email alerts
    • They are automatically ticked to receive email correspondence
In addition, the VIA CMS also records when these specific forms are completed, so you can report on their success within VIA (through either the contacts tab to show all applicants who have filled out this form over a given period, or in the Reports > Management > Enquiries report).

This Sounds Great! Can We See It In Action?

You sure can! You can see the new “Sign Up To Property Alerts” functionality on our customer’s website, Featherstone Leigh – where we’ve also helped create a brand new page to host the form, too. Visitors to the website can access the page by clicking an advertising banner they have added to their search results pages, which you can view here.

Will Atom Customers Need To Take Any Action?

Yes and No – the new website functionality was rolled out to all Atom users on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 and is all ready for you to start using.
However, this new item won’t automatically appear on your website. You’ll need to create the item and add it to any existing pages or build a new page to host your new form using VIA. If you want us to do this all for you, please contact your account manager at accountmanagers@webdadi.com

Once I’ve added the form to my website, will those signing up automatically start receiving email property alerts?

Yes. If you’re a VIA Website & CRM Edition customer or VIA Lead Manager Edition customer that has auto emails activated on your account, then as soon as someone signs up for property alerts on your website they’ll start being sent property alerts. The applicant record will also be automatically saved in your VIA software for you to access whenever you need.

If you are  a VIA Website Edition-only customer, you’ll need to transfer the details of the applicant to your third party software (eg: Vebra, Reapit etc.) that you use to send property alerts.

Why is This Type of Website Functionality Important?

The new “Sign Up To Property Alerts” feature will allow website users to quickly and easily sign up to property alerts without having to use the Account/Login feature – enhancing the user experience and enhancing website lead generation.

For CRM customers, those customers will automatically be added to VIA and be marked to receive alerts, so they will start receiving them immediately without the agent having to do a thing! *

Webdadi News – Make An Offer Button Functionality Now Available

The team here at Webdadi is always looking for ways to enhance the user experience and functionality of our customers’ websites; and with this in mind, we’re pleased to announce that on Tuesday 8th June 2021, all customers using our Atom platform will receive a brand new feature for their websites!

Introducing the Make an Offer Button

With property transactions at an all-time high, we’ve thought about how we can streamline the initial touchpoints users have with our customers websites. So, our development team has built the new ‘Make an Offer’ Button, which will be added automatically to all our customers who currently use our Atom website platform.

The new Make an Offer Button will be placed near the ‘Arrange a Viewing’ section of Webdadi customer websites that use the Atom platform. Once this new button is clicked it, it will open a form in a iframe/modal window where the user can submit an offer to purchase the property they’re viewing – cutting down property transaction times and enhancing the lead generation effectiveness of the website.

How Does it Work?

The button consists of a simple data capture form that includes fields for name, email address, phone number and offer. Once the user submits an offer, it is immediately sent to both the user and property agent and includes the details of the property being bid on. This makes the business of collecting customer data effortless and also makes the user experience brilliantly easy, too.

The form will be in-keeping with customers’ current web design aesthetic, with all functionality pre-loaded and ready to go.

Hover Effects on items

You can now add hover effects to any basic items you've added to a page. There are 10 different animations to choose from, so you can edit the look of your existing website pages, or design completely new ones with this great design feature.

You can even preview what your hover over effect will look like online directly within VIA, so you can help choose the right effect for your page design.




Embed Videos in Blogs

You can now add videos to your blog articles to help increase engagement in your articles.

Any videos you add to your blog article will display on both the main blog page displaying all of your articles, as well as the individual blog article page.



Full Screen Items

When you add items to a page, you now have the option to make them "full screen" ensuring they take up the entire size of the desktop screen, allowing you to create stunning landing pages.

Create stunning video and image carousels for you pages, and have the freedom to design the website page you want using Atom.


Blog Preview Item

You now have the ability to add a preview of your blog to any cms page.  Choose between displaying your blog articles as a revolving carousel, or in a grid view. Display between 1-20 of your latest blog articles, and even filter blogs by keyword, allowing you to customise what blogs display.

Increase your SEO by adding your blog to your key landing pages, ensuring fresh content is automatically added to your pages whenever you add a new blog post. 




Yield Calculator Item

If you're a lettings agent, or have a lettings department within your business, our latest item template will be a handy tool for your prospective landlords.

You can add a Yield Calculator to any page listed within VIA so they can work out their potential yield on their property directly on your website. You can even edit the text and background colour of your new calculator.



Page Speed Optimisations

If you have an Atom website, it's now faster than ever. We won't bore you with the technical details, but we've made a host of optimisations to the platform to ensure your users have the fastest online experience.

Lazy loading, minifying HTML and image optimisation are just some of the changes we've made to make your Atom one of the best performing website platforms available. 



Custom Alt Tags

Alt tags allow you to label images to help aid your SEO.
 
Now, when you add images to pages or items within VIA, you can label the image which will then outputs as an alt tag on your website, letting Google know the name of the image you're using on your website.

What is Via?

VIA is our very latest software. VIA Website Edition will be replacing our V5 CMS software. It is the software which enables you to add and edit your website page content. You will have been using Webdadi V5 CMS Edition to do all of this, but VIA is our latest offering which makes things easier, faster, and comes with a host of new features to help improve the look and feel of your website

How much does it cost?

It's completely FREE! Most providers would charge you to upgrade to their latest software, but not us. We have a firm commitment to our innovation updates, and this is the very first innovation update to your software. All Webdadi V5 CMS customers will be upgraded to our VIA Website Edition software over the next couple of months without any additional setup charges or increases to your monthly subscription. Our Account Manager's will be in touch with you, to help train and give you information about the switch over.


What about my current software?

All your data and info will be pre loaded to the new system for you. Don't worry. When you log into your new software, all of your existing data will simply be copied and uploaded to the new software, so you won't notice any loss of data.Everything will be waiting for you when you log in, right where you left it. In fact, with our new layouts and features, your data will never have been so easily accessible! Simply log into your new software and carry on using your software as normal.

What do I need to do? 

Absolutely nothing. Our Account Managers will be in touch with you sometime over the next two months when you're software has been switched over. We'll carry out everything behind the scenes for you to get you ready to roll. We'll simply give you a call as soon as you can access your software, give you a quick training session, and off you go.
