Google analytics is changing and you'll need to take action

Published: 12/05/2023 By Customer Success Team

If you have an analytics account, you'll need to upgrade it to use Google's new Analytics 4.

Currently, your account will be using Universal Analytics to collect data and statistics about your website. On the 1st July 2023 Universal Analytics will stop collecting data. In brief, it means if you don't make the switch prior to the deadline, you won't get any further about your website beyond this date. Whilst your historical data will still be accessible, you won't be collecting any further data.

The process is relatively straightforward, but please Click here to view Google's support guide on what you need to do to upgrade your account. Please note, Webdadi don't hold any details about your Google account as this will be managed by your business separately.

Webdadi's websites fully support GA4, so once you have upgraded your account and generated your new GA4 code, simply paste it into the relevant section of your VIA software to add it to your website. Click here to view details on how to do this. Alternatively, feel free to email your GA4 code to the Webdadi helpdesk at and we can add your new code to the website for you.
