This includes associated companies to home sales and lettings including removals companies. But will all estate agents want to take staff off furlough with the job retention scheme extended to October?
Sure activity is increasing daily since Monday as Londoners, in particular, seek houses with gardens. But does that translate to cash to pay for staff yet? I think not, it's all going to be about taking one step at a time. Open one or more offices, to start with, just like the financial crash of 2008, and provide the necessary skeleton staff to take on the viewings and valuation demand, but importantly in cautious alignment and sight of forthcoming transactions. This is not an open all the doors at once moment!
We're going to almost certainly see if recent history is anything to go by, one office then another and another open, as the demand and most importantly transactions complete, enabling the much-needed cash to come into the businesses and underpin estate agency across the UK.
